Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is expected to announce its preferred location for a new hospital site this Tuesday, marking a major milestone in the long-term redevelopment of Frimley Park Hospital.

The decision comes as part of an essential plan to rebuild the current facilities, which are facing significant structural challenges. The Trust has identified that approximately two-thirds of the existing buildings at Frimley Park Hospital were constructed using Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC). This specific building material has become a significant concern for healthcare providers nationwide, as it is prone to structural failure when exposed to moisture.

The proposed move and rebuild are designed to ensure the long-term safety and sustainability of healthcare services for the local community. By securing a new site, the Trust aims to move away from the risks associated with the aging RAAC structures and provide modern, state-of-the-art medical facilities.
